Siracha Tour Co.,Ltd.
Sriracha Tour Co., Ltd. was registered under the Civil and Commercial Code as a limited company.
Registration number Bor.Jor.Chor.Chor.Bor. 241, dated September 1, 1983, with an initial registered capital of 2,000,000 Baht (two million Baht),
divided into 200 shares with a par value of 10,000 Baht each. The company had 13 shareholders.
Mr. Pranon Phongwirat acted as the registration applicant. The founding shareholders were all passenger transport operators
who came together to establish a limited company in order to apply for a route concession to enter into a joint operation agreement with The Transport Company Limited.
However, the attempt was unsuccessful due to lack of unified management, a small number of vehicles, and poor maintenance.
The condition of the buses was severely deteriorated, while competitors had well-maintained and improved buses.
Mr. Somkhuan Nokhong was born on Wednesday, November 13, 1940, at house number 29, Village No. 9,
Wat Bot Subdistrict, Phanat Nikhom District, Chonburi Province. His father was Mr. Phat and his mother was Mrs. Choei.
He had seven siblings and, being the eldest, was instilled with the values of diligence, perseverance, determination,
high responsibility, a strong work ethic, and a passion for service. He viewed the passenger bus operation as a cash crop business.
He identified the air-conditioned first-class bus route Laem Chabang – Sriracha – Bang Phra – Bang Saen – Ekkamai
as a high-traffic route, evident from the large number of chartered (plate 30-xxxx) and regular buses (plate 10-xxxx)
operating on regular days, weekends, and public holidays. He saw potential for growth due to the route being located in industrial,
commercial, and tourist areas. With set pick-up/drop-off points and scheduled runs, he believed that improving service quality
to be more convenient, fast, and safe would attract more passengers. Thus, in 1987, he used his savings to buy shares
from existing shareholders in Sriracha Tour Co., Ltd., becoming a shareholder himself.
Determined to develop the business, he proposed a capital increase at the shareholders' meeting to improve the operation.
Most shareholders did not wish to invest further but opted to sell their shares due to the dilapidated state of the buses,
insufficient revenue, poor management and control, and widespread issuance of free tickets.
Believing the situation could be resolved, Mr. Somkhuan purchased additional shares from those looking to sell,
resulting in the Nokhong Group becoming the majority shareholder, with Mr. Somkhuan Nokhong assuming the role of Managing Director.
